St Helens Safeguarding Children Partnership Executive
The primary objective of the St Helens Safeguarding Children Partnership (SHSCP) Executive is to bring together the four delegated key safeguarding partners to lead children's safeguarding and the promotion of child welfare in St Helens.
The four safeguarding partners, St Helens Borough Council – Children’s Services & Education, Merseyside Police and Health (Cheshire & Merseyside Integrated Care Board) share this responsibility equally.
The purpose of the SHSCP Executive is to ensure that:
- the legal requirements of Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023 are met
- children are safeguarded and receive the support that they require in a timely and appropriate manner
- all agencies who contribute to safeguarding activity are clear on their responsibilities and receive the relevant training and information
- the public have confidence in the ability of relevant professionals to keep children safe.
