New Multi-Agency Safeguarding Arrangements (MASA)
St Helens Multi Agency Safeguarding Children Arrangements
In 2017 the law changed regarding safeguarding children with the publication of the Children and Social Work Act 2017, followed by the publication of Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018.
This change means that there are 3 key partners who will assume equal responsibility for the safeguarding children arrangements within the borough of St Helens. The 3 key partners are the Local Authority, Police and Clinical Commissioning Group.
As of the 1st May 2019 St Helens Local Safeguarding Children Board ceased to operate and have been replaced by the Safeguarding Children Partnership.
In accordance with the published guidance each area has a responsibility to publish their arrangements. Please find below links to the structure for the new Safeguarding Children Partnership and the formal document for St Helens new multi-agency safeguarding arrangements.
