Understanding Childhood Neglect & Responding Effectively (incl. GCP2 Training for Practitioners)

• THIS COURSE HAS BEEN MERGED WITH THE 'GCP2: LICENSED TRAINING FOR PRACTITIONERS' All practitioners are expected to complete this 1 day training in order to ensure that the partnership acquire the same level of knowledge and skills around neglect.

Understanding Childhood Neglect & Responding Effectively training will look at:

• Practice Learning Reviews - Neglect mistaken for other conditions; Drift & delay.  
• Appropriate strategies and interventions when working with families where neglect is a concern using the Signs of Safety model.
• Applying tools for observation of parent/child interaction to strengthen observational and analytical skills.
• Understanding the importance of nurturing 'healthy resilience' in a child.
• Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) as a tool for assessment, intervention and decision making in working to safeguard children from abuse and neglect.
• Graded Care Profile 2 licenced assessment.
