Suicide Prevention Training

How Serious is Serious?

This course has been developed by Merseyside Youth Associations RAISE team, in partnership with Wirral Child and Young Peoples Mental Health Service and Young Persons Advisory Service. It has been guided by parents experience of suicide bereavement, children and young people's participation groups and mental health professionals.  Its development was funded by the Liverpool Child Death Overview Panel (CDOP) in response to growing concerns about the number of children who look to suicide as the answer to the difficulties they are facing.

This training has been designed to help professionals working with children to build confidence in talking openly with young people about suicide.

Whilst no current dates are scheduled for this training offer - a waiting list is being held of practitioners who wish to attend.

Once an adequate number of practitioners have expressed interest, dates will be arranged to meet need.
