Merit & MARAC Awareness - Local domestic abuse referral pathways
MERIT AND MARAC TRAINING
The Safe2Speak team is made up of IDVA and Outreach workers who work with GOLD/high risk (MARAC cases) and SILVER/medium risk cases, respectively.
In order for a professional to make a referral to the team following a disclosure of domestic abuse – the Local Authority protocols states a MERIT risk assessment must be completed.
This assessment enables professionals to identify what level of risk the client is at and which referral path to follow to ensure the victim receives the right support.
The MERIT and MARAC training will cover all you need to know in terms of:
- Identifying & following local domestic abuse referral pathways (St. Helens)
- Completing MERIT risk assessments
- Raise awareness of the MARAC process & purpose
- Develop understanding of your professional responsibility to appropriately respond to disclosures of domestic abuse.
You will need access to Microsoft Teams to join the virtual courses. If you are unsure or need advice around this, do not hesitate to contact Safe2Speak on 01744 743200.
***Both training courses are highly beneficial for local professionals at all levels and not solely designed for front line practitioners as it does provide key information for strategic leads/management. ***
